Step 1: Add a New Domain in Microsoft 365

To add a new domain to your Office 365 (Microsoft 365) account:

  1. Log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center with your admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Domains section.
  3. Click Add Domain and enter your new domain name.
  4. Verify ownership of the domain by adding a TXT or MX record in your domain registrar’s DNS settings.
  5. Once verified, you can set the domain as the primary domain, or use it for email addresses and custom URLs.
  6. Add users and assign licenses for the new domain.

⚠️ Note: You must have admin access to the Office 365 tenant to add and manage domains.

Step 2: Configure Office 365 DNS Records

You’ll need to add specific DNS records so that your domain works with Office 365 services like email and Autodiscover. The process may vary depending on your DNS hosting provider.

Configure DNS Records in CloudNS

  1. Log in to your CloudNS account and select the domain you’re setting up.
  2. Go to the DNS Records section.
  3. Add the following DNS records:
    • MX Record – Routes email for your domain to Office 365. The exact MX value can be found in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
    • TXT Record – Verifies domain ownership. Use the TXT value provided by Microsoft during verification.
    • CNAME Record – Configures the Autodiscover service, pointing to the Office 365 Autodiscover endpoint.
  4. Save changes and allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation.
  5. Return to the Office 365 Admin Center to complete domain verification.

Configure DNS Records in Etisalat

  1. Log in to your Etisalat account and select your domain.
  2. Open the DNS Management section.
  3. Add the following DNS records:
    • MX Record – Directs your domain’s emails to Office 365 mail servers.
    • TXT Record – Verifies domain ownership with the TXT value provided by Microsoft.
    • CNAME Record – Configures the Autodiscover service for Outlook and mobile devices.
  4. Save the records and allow up to 48 hours for propagation.
  5. Verify the domain in the Office 365 Admin Center.

Note: Etisalat’s DNS management interface may differ depending on your account version. Always refer to the latest Etisalat documentation for accurate instructions.

By completing these steps, your domain will be successfully added to Office 365 and fully configured to handle email and other Microsoft services.
